Safety Officer - Abu Dhabi
Company Description
We are hiring a Safety Officer for one of our clients in Abu Dhabi.
Salary offered is as per the market standards.
Insurance is company provided.
Visa should be transferable.
Work Location: Abu Dhabi, with the ability to move any other other location the company requires.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor day-to-day site activities to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Enforce adherence to project-specific HSE plans and client safety requirements.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions, and emergency drills.
- Maintain and submit safety documentation: incident reports, inspection logs, and compliance records.
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and labor teams to ensure safety best practices are followed.
- Ensure all personnel are using appropriate PPE and safety measures.
- Liaise with local authorities (e.g., ADPHC, Civil Defense) as needed for inspections or compliance.
Requirements:
- Valid OSHAD Practitioner Registration (via Qudorat system – Category A or B).
- NEBOSH IGC Certification (minimum requirement for OSHAD registration).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Safety Officer in construction or MEP projects within the UAE.
- Certification in First Aid and Fire Fighting from Civil Defense-approved institutions.
- Knowledge of RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement) preparation.
- Familiarity with UAE Labor Law and local construction safety regulations.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely, OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety).
- Training in Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, or Scaffolding Safety.
- Awareness of ISO 45001:2018 safety management standards.
- Strong communication, leadership, and reporting skills.
- Minimum Diploma educated is required.
